Fun, challenges and independence - DEBRA NZ runs week-long International EB Adventure Camps for teens and young adults.
It is incredibly important to meet up, and hang about in a group of your peers. With EB so rare, young Australians with EB come and join us at Mt Ruapehu, New Zealand.

Activities include sit ski-ing and river rafting
Fragile skin need not limit having fun! With the right approach, when well supported by skilled helpers who know about EB, these outdoor adventures can be a life-changing experience.
As well as the sense of satisfaction and excitement from achieving the physical challenges of camp, there is always a great feeling of camaraderie, relaxing together at the end of the day.
The personal carers and volunteer medical students, nurses and dermatologists who come with the campers get a great chance to share ideas and learn more about life with EB. Camp creates a valuable sense of teamwork for the carers, as well as the thrills having to ‘endure’ the same fantastic adventures.
DEBRA NZ welcomes international campers from all over the world, and if funding allowed we would hold them every year!
